Healing for Victims of Trauma & Disaster

The Phoenix Nest Community Project is a forward thinking collaborative aiming to resolve the most challenging issues we face in our region today.  Our mission is to create a community of healing and prosperity in an area that has faced unprecedented disaster and trauma. Our greater vision includes building a community in Butte County to provide for those who need affordable housing and a meaningful path to becoming the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.

Ketamine Treatment

At Phoenix Nest Community Project, we utilize ketamine to aide in the treatment of a number of issues. Ketamine is a very safe medicine that has been used for anesthesia since the 1960’s and is currently listed as one of the 40 most important medicines in the world by the World Health Organization. More recent studies have found that when used in sub-anesthetic doses, Ketamine proves to be a powerful antidepressant and an effective treatment option for PTSD, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, chronic pain and more without the need for daily medication.

Alexandra Kriz

Alexandra Kriz grew up in Chico and has been a small business owner for over 12 years. In her early twenties she enlisted in the Army as a cryptologic linguist and during a deployment to Latin America incurred a traumatic sexual assault by fellow American soldiers sending her into a decade long battle with Post Traumatic Stress that had a devastating impact.  Through the help of a highly skilled local therapist, shamanic practitioner, holistic healing, and shifting to a simple way of living with nature she has blossomed into a leader in our community.

Alexandra is a graduate of the Religious Studies program at Chico State where she focused her work on entheogen use in world religions and their effects on human consciousness.  Her passion for world religion and the exploration of the unconscious can be seen in the design elements of the Phoenix Nest.  Alexandra’s life journey has given her the ability to relate to those who are struggling with trauma while offering guidance to a path of happiness and health.  Her open hearted approach as a facilitator and coach is one that honors the individual’s need to feel safe and completely free to express their truth without judgment. Alexandra is currently enrolled in the PhD program for clinical psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Jesse Spallina

Jesse Spallina is from Gainesville, Florida and a graduate of International Business from the University of North Florida.  Jesse moved to the Chico area in 2014 after he found the corporate world of Washington DC to be incongruent with his path to happiness.  He found happiness in the hills of Northern California and shortly thereafter felt called to explore the world of sound healing.  In 2018, he became certified in Vibrational Sound Therapy and started 432 in Chico. He has provided his services to organizations such as the 211 center, Chico State, Butte College, and many others.  His passion and skills for creating the perfect set and setting for pleasing the senses are an integral part of the Phoenix Nest experience.

I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner and I am a passionate student of the healing arts and am honored to serve you. I specialize in self love alchemy, illuminating your individual beauty and working with you to shine your light on the world. I love working with the natural cycles of the seasons, the energies of the day and the elements. Each session with me is personalized to you and your needs.

I  am trained in many aspects of Ayurveda as well as multiple modalities of alternative healing such as hypnosis, energy work, yoga, meditation, sound healing, color therapy, herbalism, astrology and so much more. I have an expansive toolbox and I am sure that we will find the tools that work best for you.

Knowing your basic elemental makeup is the key to living in balance.  A free mini Ayurvedic consultation with me will give you the basics of your elemental constitutional makeup and some quick and easy lifestyle suggestions to begin to integrate and balance your system.

Ayurveda is India’s 5000 year old science of evoking inner health by aligning with the elements and the rhythms of nature. Ayurveda offers a rich and dynamic body of knowledge that supports each person’s individual holistic wellness at a deep level.

The Sanskrit word Ayurveda translates as “science of life”; the world around us is made up of five elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth. Living a life that is conscious of these elements enables us to dance in tune with these rhythmic and elemental influences, thus revitalizing our bodies, inviting us to be personally empowered to trust ourselves and reconnects our spirit. Ayurvedic treatments include daily routines, delicious foods, medicinal herbs, massage, yoga, color therapy, meditation, and other simple lifestyle changes that work to restore your body to its innate, healthy balance.

Ayurveda is an in depth system to unlock the secrets of inner and outer peace and harmony.

When you know who you are and how you are made you are empowered to love yourself and co-create your life of balance. Many blessings and much gratitude for you and your healing journey.

Cheryl Connolly

Restorative Reiki
Reiki Master of Western Reiki   2010 – 2016
Japanese Jikiden Reiki Practitioner  2016 – present
Along with practicing Reiki, I have been a life-long educator, including 18 years teaching with Chico Unified School District. With a B.S. degree in Physical Education, and a K-8 Multiple Subjects Credential, I taught mostly Elementary, but also included teaching Physical Education at the Junior High and High School levels.
With a wide range of life experiences, including extensive world travel, working with families at schools with generational poverty and trauma, along with community issues involving mental illness, alcohol and drug addiction, and loss and grief, my interest in helping people heal and moving forward is both personally rewarding and satisfying.
Reiki is a quiet energy that promotes deep relaxation and calmness, and slows down the mental chatter. It also helps the body to heal itself of illness and injuries by breaking-up blocked or stagnant energy, so it can flow freely again.
The client lies on a massage table, in comfortable clothing, in a quiet room with soothing music and quiet lighting. The practitioner’s hands are very gently placed on or just above the body, moving from head to toe. Sessions are usually an hour long, with a brief time to talk before and after.
